Live-in Carers

Let’s Go

Let’s Go

We source self-employed live-in carers to engage on a self-employed basis with our private and business clients across London and the south east of England. Our clients are looking for experienced live-in carers to support them for long and short-term periods.

Are you looking for a long-term client?

Our clients are often looking for carers who are available to work longer term, on a six to eight week rolling basis, with one or two weeks break between assignments.

Looking for shorter term or more flexible clients?

We also have clients looking for carers who can work with them for one or two weeks at a time, on an ongoing basis, or for short term weekly respite cover usually for up to four weeks at a time.

You tell us what you can do!

We are looking to introduce kind and positive carers who can provide ongoing care, support and companionship.

We can provide full training as required.

We are an approved DBS provider!

All charges are negotiable with the client, however as a guide:

Self – employed live-in carers earn in the region of £640 per week for supporting clients with medium care needs. A client with medium care needs generally sleeps well through the night and has no hoisting or challenging requirements.

If a client has higher care needs (such as advanced dementia or hoisting requirements) the weekly amount offered will generally be more.

If a carer is providing care and support for a couple the carer can expect to charge in the region of £720 per week.

Clients often pay up to £30 for return travel (to and from your home to your assignment).

Carers on Demand offer a supportive and professional environment. We work hard to raise the standard of care professionals across the care industry.

Yes, all the carers we introduce are self -employed.

We do not employ any carers directly.

Once we have introduced you to a private or a business client, you will sign up to the agreed terms. The client will be responsible for paying your fees to you directly. This is usually every two weeks (for ongoing assignments) or per assignment as agreed if you are engaged for a shorter term. You will be responsible for paying your own tax and national insurance contributions. We will ask you to provide us with a Unique Tax Reference number to ensure you declare your income to HMRC. You can obtain this easily and we can assist you if needed. You can find more information on self-employment on the governments website.

Our introduction service allows you to have autonomy and flexibility about how and when you work. Some carers prefer to work longer assignments (usually six to eight weeks at a time or maybe longer) and some carers are more flexible and prefer shorter periods. All clients are unique, and we can introduce you to a client that would be right for you.

All carers that are registered with Carers on Demand will be required to have a new or up to date DBS disclosure. We would usually do this for you. However, if you have subscribed to the online DBS update service you will not need a new DBS check, we will simply check the update online register free of charge.

You must bring appropriate forms of identification to your interview.  Failure to provide us with the correct ID will seriously delay your application. Details of all information required will be sent to you with your pre-interview application pack.

If you need a VISA which gives you permission to work in the UK, we will require full evidence of this. You will be asked to sign a declaration of right to work in the UK.

You must provide evidence that you have completed training modules. We will not be able to introduce you to any client until we have had sight of your training certificates. We can support carers with any required training.

Please note that we do not accept applications via telephone.

Getting your outfit right is important. Its best to go with smart every time.
